Last month, Air Charter Service collaborated with a South African conservation company to transport 39 white rhinoceroses from Namibia to Dallas, USA, for breeding programs aimed at conserving their unique genetics. According to Lyndee du Toit, CEO of ACS Africa, this project is the largest rhino translocation ever and involved extensive planning. Previously, ACS moved 30 rhinos to Rwanda in 2021. The recent flight required careful logistics due to the rhinos’ combined weight of 80 tons and included a fuel stop in Cape Verde before reaching Dallas, where they were monitored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and are reportedly thriving in their new homes.
