A significant fire occurred in the cargo village at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, leading to a complete suspension of flight operations and disrupting air cargo services. The fire, which broke out on October 18, prompted the response of 37 firefighting units, including military teams. Although all aircraft were declared safe, numerous flights were diverted. The fire was eventually controlled, and operations resumed. Tarique Rahman, acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, called for a thorough investigation into the incident and emphasized the need for improved public safety measures due to the rising number of fire incidents recently.
