The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) achieved a significant milestone with the successful landing of an Indian Air Force C-295 aircraft on its South runway. Initiated in August 2021, NMIA is being developed by the Adani Group and is set to open in early 2025. Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airport Holdings, expressed pride in the project’s progress and acknowledged the support from various stakeholders. The airport aims to handle 90 million passengers and 800,000 tonnes of cargo annually, marking a critical phase in its development as it prepares for commercial operations.
