The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is allocating $3 billion to 55 ports through its Clean Ports Program to support their transition to zero-emission operations. The funding will enhance cargo handling equipment, infrastructure, and air quality projects, enabling ports to purchase zero-emission machinery, vehicles, and charging systems. Notable grants include $380 million for the Port of Virginia, $147 million for the Port of Baltimore, and $412 million for the Port of Los Angeles. These investments aim to significantly reduce emissions and improve regional air quality, aligning with ambitious sustainability goals.
