The public is invited to provide feedback on a draft assessment of new cargo-handling technologies aimed at reducing air pollution and achieving the zero-emissions targets set by the Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP) for the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. The 2024 feasibility assessment analyzes existing technology, operational aspects, economic factors, and readiness for cleaner cargo-handling equipment. The ports are committed to evaluating terminal equipment and drayage trucks every three years to align with CAAP goals and have invested over $431 million since 2007 to promote cleaner technologies through the Technology Advancement Program.
