FedEx is implementing a “Hold-to-Match” program to enhance delivery efficiency by consolidating packages going to the same destination, thereby increasing the number of deliveries per stop and reducing operational costs. CEO Raj Subramaniam emphasized that this approach is part of FedEx’s broader strategy to improve efficiency amid declining demand in the delivery sector. The company is also pursuing additional cost-cutting measures through initiatives like the DRIVE program and Network 2.0, which aims to streamline its Express and Ground networks. UPS has adopted similar strategies to optimize deliveries.
